DANIEL RICHARDS
Magician of Light and Colour

Working at the National Gallery of Canada as their senior division manager for nearly 20 years was fundamental to my success as an artist. I was privileged to help design and supervise the installation of many exhibitions with artists from around the world. During that same period I perfected many new and innovative rendering techniques, some of which you see here today.

It was only after studying Roger Sperry’s Nobel prize winning work, “The Discoveries of the Cerebral Hemispheres”, did I understand how to render magnificent shape, form, light and colour in a way never seen before. Incorporating this knowledge creatively into my art surprisingly gratified both hemispheres at the same time resulting in an unusually high level of appreciative work.

I have been a Master Illuminist and printmaker for nearly 35 years and have worked in almost every medium known to man and I look forward to continuing my adventure in life.
