Diamond Cover Harbour II, 21 x 32, Mixed Media on Canvas
| There sits an old neglected boat that is high above the sea, with its orange and green painted bow peeling away needlessly. It's moored to the dock with green tattered rope and its heavy body weight, but can this vessel withstand strong winds should the sea one day wish to take? Yellow mooring rope loosely tethers unseen ships that float nearby, while just out of our vision others float and are much too shy. As I turn to the left and I look far away, blue sky and calm waters abound, but not one fisherman in Diamond Cove will ever return to be found. Where have they all gone this group of good souls, could it be that the last bell dost toll, or is it through age and time long past these fisherman have simply grown old? |
