White Point Beach, 21 x 38, Mixed Media on Canvas

This is one of Nova Scotia’s most famous beaches. It was late evening and the moon was full. The glowing phosphorescence of the algae is captured as it moves in the moonlight towards the shore. Here I used only 3 colour tints to achieve its great beauty. Mauve was applied to the sky while emerald pigment adorns the wave and sepia finished the dark surf and sandy shore line. Tranquility and a sense of timeless beauty are all evident in this unique work of art.
